Evening progress

The Wednesday evening class met their penultimate block this week – Temple Court – designed to revise rotary cutting techniques and to revisit one or two pieced units met earlier in the term.  Barbara also did a quick lesson and demonstration of hand quilting.  Chris has promised to take her hand quilting efforts in next week to show everyone that its ok to do bigger stitches (just so your toes don’t catch).  As Chris was supposedly in charge of the camera not many photos were taken – you’d have thought she would have managed at least one of Barbara’s quilting lesson, but no.

So – here is Barbara’s Temple Court block

And here’s just some of the homework – and piles of blocks – that showed up and got ‘arranged’ on the tables if they weren’t whisked away – we think there are some terrific quilts in the making.

Next week we’ll be discussing and demonstrating the last block before we spend a evening discussing the finer points of finishing and binding.  And Barbara will be straight off the plane from International Quilt Market in Houston, where, rumour has it, she is having quite a good time!

  1. Your students are still being very productive. What a lovely range of fabrics. Look forward to seeing quilts being finished – and your hand quilting. Could you be a convert??
