Electric Quilt

Barbara’s been busy and has put a few new doodles on our EQ page. In the meantime we thought some of you might like to see how a few of our favourite EQ tools work. We’ve put the basic Log Cabin block from the EQ sketch book into a 4 x 4 quilt setting –

And then used the ‘Symmetry’ tool on the right hand side toolbar.

If you hold the control key (Ctrl) down and click on the quilt at the same time all the blocks will rotate. You should get up to 16 different rotations, depending on how asymmetric the block is. Here’s a few of them –

Our other favourite tool is the random recolour (or recolor). Perhaps we’ll use that on these quilts next time …

  1. This is brilliant Chris and Barbara! I tried it once and then realised how stupid I was that I had tried it on a block that was symetrical – didn’t work! It was lovely to meet Barbara at the NEC and to thank her in person for the lovely blog and web site you both have
