“Please come back” was the verdict last year after our awayday class for the U3A group in Mold. Last week was the appointed time for our return so we shoved packed lots of stuff into the trusty Tank and set off in the rain. Unpacking the Tank in the rain was great sprinting exercise and by the time all 20 eager students had arrived and we were set up we had probably used up a fair number of calories. We had billed the class as “A Circular Tour” and included various ways of appliquéing circles to a background and cutting up and re-arranging the results. Fortified by coffee and biscuits, everyone ignored the rain hammering down outside and had a really good time. There were lots of oohs and aahs as possibilities were explored and new stitches were tried. We heard lots of comments about going on to make cushions, quilts, wallhangings using the techniques Chris had demonstrated and – who knows – we may even see pictures of the results. As you can see from the pics below the class samples looked most promising. Thank you ladies, we had a great day – and we’ll see you next year!
Now we’ve got a few months to plan which class we will offer next year – more coffee is called for! And there are some fresh EQ Doodles if you wander over to that page ….
Looks like it was a fun session – some stunning samples there…here’s hoping you get some pictures of the finished articles!
Lovel work produced. It certainly looks like everyone had a good time. Note to self: get on with quilting my circles!
