February already! The last couple of weeks have slipped by in a blur of activity with the start of evening classes and our first Saturday class for this year. Lots of packing and unpacking of cars and setting up classroom spaces – seems to be our speciality. Barbara has sneaked off for her annual weekend retreat and has abandoned Chris to the management of the C&B empire (yet again! – Chris). The evening classes are going really well – we began with making a basic checkerboard strip
We’re going to work through various cutting and constructions for half square triangles, quarter square triangles and other exciting things.
The Saturday class was “Starter for Nine” – lots of lovely fabrics, speed piecing and cutting and lots of possibilities – we’re expecting to see several quilt tops quite soon ..
By Wednesday Kate had turned her blocks into a whole quilt top – doesn’t it look terrific?
Our new Mystery Monday project is off to a great start – you could slip over to LoopyLou’s blog and see her progress with some delicious fabric choices before we post the next step on Monday.
A great class and Kate’s looks great. Mine is definitely on the way, even with the replacement machine. Just looked at Jane’s blog – great fabric choices. She has become a real quilter.
Thank you for the surprise mention. I’ve really enjoyed it so far and after seeing Maggi’s table runner, wish I’d had the courage to take the plunge before. Looking forward to the next installment
