Chris has put the finishing touches to a new quilt, completed almost in the blink of an eye, and is now planning a pre-Christmas assault on her sewing room so that she can actually get in there over the festive season – if the need should arise.
Barbara’s plans have been frustrated by a cold weather incident (aka messy burst pipe) which is now fixed but needs quite a lot of aftercare and cleanup. The location of the burst was, inevitably, en route to her sewing room so some of the wet plaster debris will have to dry out sufficiently before she can traipse up and down the back stairs to finish the quilt she was working on. Bother! And there’s the small matter of clearing and tidying this sewing room too – things are getting a little crowded and cluttered again.
Reliable sources inform us that we shall miss our weekly fix of coffee and cupcakes this week. Apparently because something called Christmas is happening Alison (rather unreasonably, we think) is not going to open the shop on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or Boxing Day. We may just have to pop into our favourite coffee shop and order coffee and brownies instead to maintain reasonable caffeine and sugar levels ….
So before we get engulfed in domestic detail and tempted to wander down the “bah, humbug” route, we’d like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas with lots of good quilting to come in the New Year.
