Monday rolls around again and it’s time for Step 8 of our Mystery project – you can download a printable version here.
This week we return to Bag Y. In it you should find –
4 Block Y1
32 Flying Geese Units (Unit 2) – 32 BDB
32 Half –Square Triangles (Unit 3) – 16 EB; 16 AB
8 Four X (Unit 4) – 8 AEC
Stitch an EB Half Square Triangle unit to each end of a BDB Flying Geese unit.
Note carefully which way the triangles are facing.
B = cream.
Stitch a BDB Flying Geese unit to both C sides of an AEC Four X unit.
Stitch an AB Half Square Triangle unit to each end of a BDB Flying Geese Unit.
Note carefully which way the triangles are facing. This is different from the first set.
B = cream.
Stitch E Flying Geese units to the E side of the AEC Four X unit.
Stitch A Flying Geese units to A side of the Four X unit.
This is Block Y2. With a great leap of imagination and enterprise put these freshly-made (and pressed) blocks into Bag Y.
Your double check –
Bag X should now contain – 1 Block X1; 4 Block X2; 4 Block X3.
Bag Y should now contain – 4 Block Y1; 8 Block Y2
Bag Z should now contain – 16 Unit 2 (ABD); 16 Unit 3 (EB); 16 Unit 3 (AD)
And with Bags X and Y full of neatly pressed blocks we have to wait another week to see what happens next. Happy stitching!
