We’ve certainly been blessed with the best of the weather for our classes recently and Saturday’s class was no exception with warm sunshine to bask in during a well-earned lunch break. The focus for the day was fused applique with narrow zigzag stitch to finish the edges, with a short diversion into papercutting simple shapes to use and fuse. Chris slaved away over a hot kitchen to produce the oh-so-essential drinks and calories and Barbara bumbled around and bossed everyone about (no change there then – C). Starting with basic leaf shapes everyone produced their own flower and leaf arrangement and then, in the afternoon, fortified by lunch and sunshine, everyone got well under way with a second rather more freeform arrangement. A couple of funky birds and a pink elephant were much admired! We’re looking forward to seeing a variety of finished items – from bags to cushions and book covers – no pressure ladies!
